Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced RICS registered valuer to join our commercial valuations team based in Birmingham. The successful candidate will contribute to growing our Commercial Valuations business, building client relationships, and working with our existing department partners to expand the team.

About the Role

The Birmingham-based Valuations team covers the entire East Midlands, West Midlands, and North Wales regions, providing valuations for a wide range of properties, including commercial investment properties, operational assets, residential developments, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within the existing valuation team in Birmingham, providing valuations for loan security, financial reporting purposes, and other valuation requirements.
  • Carry out inspections, calculate floor and site areas, conduct comparable research, planning, and statutory enquiries, company trading analysis, lease reading and summarizing, development/option agreement reading and reviewing, preparation of valuations/development appraisals.
  • Contribute to the growth of the business by identifying new business opportunities across the Commercial valuation sector.
  • Assist in the delivery of major projects.
  • Financial and client reporting.
  • Deliver valuation reports in accordance with client instructions and RICS Valuation Standards.
  • Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of an effective profit centre business plan developed in-line with the company vision.

Requirements

You will be an experienced chartered surveyor and registered valuer, with a strong knowledge of valuations across commercial and/or residential assets. You will have good working knowledge of relevant legislation and will ideally have a strong understanding of the local market to be able to identify new opportunities to grow the business further. Travel will be required in this role, and a driving license is essential.
