About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our Regulatory Services team at Southwark Council. In this role, you will work closely with other service team leaders and the manager to deliver commercial licence policy, applications, and enforcement.

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree and ongoing professional development, with sound experience of working in a partnership environment and current or recent experience working in licensing. They will also have proven experience in leading, developing, and monitoring the performance of staff involved in partnership working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with service team leaders and the manager to strategically develop and implement licensing workplans and policies.
  • Lead and manage a team of principal enforcement officers, enforcement officers, and support staff.
  • Ensure the team provides a regulatory service that protects the community, adhering to relevant legislation and Council procedures.
  • Drive the delivery of performance targets within Regulatory Services, contributing to the achievement of broader council objectives.

About You:

  • A relevant degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent academic or professional qualification.
  • Ongoing professional and managerial development.
  • Sound experience of working in a partnership environment.
  • Current or recent experience working in licensing.
  • Proven experience in leading, developing, and monitoring the performance of staff involved in partnership working.
