Job Title: Adult Careers Advisor

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our team as an Adult Careers Advisor. In this role, you will be responsible for providing personalized careers advice and guidance to adults, helping them to identify and develop their skills and abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one careers advice and guidance to adults
  • Work with groups to deliver careers information, advice, and guidance sessions
  • Collaborate with employers and training providers to support adults in making the transition from education into work and training
  • Manage a caseload of participants and provide intensive support to help them overcome personal barriers to employment, education, or training
  • Deliver dynamic personal development and career management courses to groups
  • Support participants to identify and develop transferable skills
  • Maintain an awareness and understanding of the local labour market and build and maintain external relationships to help support participants into suitable employment, education, or training
  • Complete documentation to the required standard and within required timescales
  • Follow up with customers to ensure advice given has made a difference
Requirements
  • An enthusiasm for working with and supporting adults
  • The ability to thrive in a busy and varied work environment
  • Experience of working with adults on a 1:1 basis or in groups
  • Previous experience of delivering careers information, advice, and guidance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to respond to demanding pressures and to meet deadlines
  • An ability to work on own initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving
