Main Duties of the Breast Radiology Consultant Role

The successful candidate will be part of the unified Manchester Breast Service to provide support for the symptomatic breast clinics and MDT meetings. The appointee will also contribute to the Breast Care Services alongside 13 other Consultant Radiologists and a consultant Radiographer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Breast Imaging including symptomatic film reading, tomosynthesis, ultrasound, and other modalities.
  • Participate in regular departmental audit and research activities.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Fully registered medical practitioner with the General Medical Council.
  • F.R.C.R. or equivalent qualification.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification.
  • Presentation at a scientific meeting.
  • Peer Reviewed publications.

Training and Experience

  • Eligible for award of CCT in Radiology or within 6 months of award of CCT.
  • Completion of sub specialty training in Breast Imaging.
  • Wide experience in Breast Radiology.

Desirable Experience and Skills

  • Experience in drawing up clinical protocols.
  • Knowledge of IT in radiology.
  • Recognised teaching skills.
