Job Title: Storage and Virtualization Engineer

The Opportunity

The Storage and Virtualization Engineer is responsible for being the technical lead and escalation point for implementing and maintaining all aspects of our client's Storage and Virtualization technology. In this role, you will support incidents, troubleshoot replication issues, SAN and Virtualization hardware/software installations/upgrades and data migration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementation: Deploy and upgrade storage and virtualization solutions for new and existing clients, including production and disaster recovery environments.
  • Maintenance: Monitor the performance, storage, and utilization of storage and virtualization, and recommend enhancements based on findings.
  • Troubleshooting: Support the recovery of clients' environments in the event of system failure or disaster, and investigate performance issues and bottlenecks of client's storage and virtualization infrastructure.
  • Engagement in self-directed continuous improvement and learning of Storage and Virtualization products, including investigating and following industry and ECI best practices, and updating ECI standards.
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in computer science, business, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of and comprehensive experience in deploying and managing NetApp ONTAP, EMC VNX, VMware vSphere, and other Enterprise Storage Solutions.
  • Thorough understanding of networking and distributed computing concepts, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing, Switching, and Firewalls, server virtualization, client/server applications, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Experience implementing and supporting Cisco-based Ethernet networks with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches.
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Financial industry experience, including familiarity with market vendor applications.
  • Experience with Linux or Solaris.
  • Scripting knowledge with PowerShell.
Product Specific
  • Thorough understanding of NetApp products and architectures, including ONTAP, SnapCentre, SnapMirror, and OnCmd.
  • Thorough understanding of VMware products and architectures, including vSphere and ESXi.
  • Thorough understanding of Nimble and EMC storage.
  • In-depth knowledge of general storage technologies, including iSCSI, FC, FCoE, CIFS/SMB, and NFS.
