Our client, a leading Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contractor, is seeking an experienced Transport and Installation Lead Engineer to join their team in Middlesbrough.

About the Role:

As a Transport and Installation Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading offshore wind projects, focusing on the transport, lifting, and installation of wind turbines and their foundations. You will work on projects of varying sizes, typically lasting a year before installation works commence.

You will also be involved in Operation and Maintenance campaigns for existing wind farms, ensuring the timely delivery of assigned deliverables within budget and to the required quality level.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing installation procedures for offshore wind projects, including selecting suitable vessels, developing positioning plans, and selecting required equipment and tools.
  • Preparing for, managing, and coordinating engineering subcontractor scope of works.
  • Performing engineering, technical preparation, and execution support of offshore wind projects.
  • Assisting projects in dealing with unexpected circumstances during execution (troubleshooting).
  • Understanding and advising on how to manage project risks and its implications on programme, budget, and quality.
Requirements:
  • A Civil / Mechanical / Offshore Engineering degree, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Installation engineering (e.g. deck layout, lift & rigging plans, operational procedures).
  • The ability to perform and review rigging design and crane lifting studies.
  • The ability to offer technical support and advice during the project execution phase.
  • Knowledge of 3D / FEA software.
  • Supervisory and coaching skills to develop junior installation engineers.
