Mechanical Design Engineer

John Crane, a global leader in flow control solutions, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Test Equipment team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining technical drawings and data for testing equipment used on both John Crane Gas and Wet seals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain technical drawings and data for testing equipment using CAD software.
- Ensure designs meet correct standards regarding safety and design practices.
- Manage the movement of test equipment between John Crane Service centres and storage within the Slough site.
- Support suppliers that use tooling designed or originally used by John Crane.
- Obtain quotes and offload work that cannot be manufactured in-house to correct subcontractors.
- Load parts that can be made into Slough machine shop.
Requirements:
- Studies in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Previous experience in a design engineering role, with good experience of 2D & 3D CAD.
- Good knowledge of MS Office (incl. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Ideal experience/knowledge of rotating equipment and high-pressure test equipment.
