Job Title: Frontend Development Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Frontend Development Specialist to join our Engineering team at esure Group, a leading insurance company.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to support the design and continuous improvement of new and existing technical products and services. As a Frontend Development Specialist, you will play a key part in building our technical landscape for now and for the future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and construct frontend customer journeys using the latest versions of React, Typescript, and Material UI.
  • Become an integral member of a high-performing Agile team, contributing to the shaping and development of esure Group's future.
  • Collaborate within a team to set the technical direction for supported products.
  • Establish a robust automated test suite for seamless integration into a continuous deployment environment.
  • Actively drive the enterprise Agile and transformation journey.
  • Identify and address areas for technical product improvement and tackle opportunities for reducing technical debt.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years experience building frontend applications in React.
  • Proficient in core frontend development with Javascript, Typescript, HTML/CSS, JSX, NPM, React State Management libraries (we use MobX).
  • Experience deploying frontend applications into AWS and utilising services such as Cloudfront and S3 is a bonus.
  • Experience with network technologies such as Cloudflare and NginX is advantageous.
  • Knowledge and practice of code quality techniques like continuous integration, unit testing, and peer reviews.
  • Effective communication of technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Contributed to technical projects within multi-functional teams.
  • Rapid research and adaptation to new programming tools and techniques.
