Job Title: Senior Research Chemist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Chemist to join our R&D team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering project plans resulting in the development of new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and interpret literature/patent sources to inform development of synthetic routes and reaction mechanisms
  • Support in laboratory work, including designing and carrying out lab-based experiments, synthesis, and characterisation of new products
  • Manage projects in line with milestones and deliverables, working closely with Applications Chemists to establish test methods and evaluate viability and performance of compounds in market formulations
  • Interpret analysis results and report on findings, maintaining an awareness of product development and trends in specific industry and project areas
  • Liaise with other internal R&D teams to share information, collaborate, and contribute to parallel or long-term R&D projects
Requirements:
  • Minimum BSc/MSc in Chemistry, with ideal candidates holding a PhD in Chemistry
  • Proven industrial experience of researching the application of polymer/synthetic chemistry products
  • Able to use creative synthetic techniques to produce new functional compounds
  • Inquisitive and lateral thinking
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
