About the Role

The M&E Building Services Technician will be responsible for the reliable and compliant operation of the estate-wide services and equipment serving all business functions across the European Knowledge Centre (EKC) facility at Hatfield.

This role has responsibility for delivering a high standard of mechanical and electrical services throughout the EKC business, within the estates engineering team. To plan and undertake routine scheduled maintenance of plant and/or equipment with stakeholders, causing minimal disruption.

This position will require you to be on call 1 in 6.

Key Responsibilities

  • City & Guilds electrical qualification or equivalent (BS7671 & C&G 2391)
  • City & Guilds mechanical qualification or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Engineering experience in similar regulated environment
  • Good awareness of Health and Safety
  • Multi-Skilled in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience on steam boilers – blowdowns and water treatment
  • VSD's, motor controls and relay logic
  • Domestic and low temperature hot water systems
  • AHU's, FCU's, chilled water and compressed air systems
  • Working knowledge of 'Permit to work' systems
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Need to be flexible, as occasionally the need will arise to work outside standard office hours
  • Experience of CMMS and BMS systems
