Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cluster HR Officer to join our team at Leonardo Hotel Derby. In this role, you will provide quality HR support, coaching and guidance for your cluster.

You will be working within the HR department, which covers our Derby, Hinckley, Nottingham, and East Midlands Airport properties. You'll be primarily based in Derby, with occasional travel to other hotels in your cluster, where necessary.

This is an HR generalist role, so you'll be involved in many different activities within the department Here are some of the role's key responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment and Selection: support the end-to-end recruitment process including shortlisting, arranging interviews, onboarding activities, and reference checks.
  2. Compliance: maintain personnel files as appropriate, ensure risk assessments are carried out and comply with company policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  3. Learning and Development: support the delivery of new starter induction, and use the Learning Management System to carry out reporting and ensure all admin is completed, such as keying promotions, removing leavers, and maintaining training attendance records.
  4. Payroll: resolve any payroll queries, ensure all working time is recorded and advise line managers on any changes to payroll processes.
  5. Employee Relations: support/coach line managers with welfare meetings, investigations and any other formal meetings, support with maternity process.
  6. Engagement: produce monthly calendar of events for the hotels and support the development and delivery of the HR strategy for each of the hotels within the cluster.
  7. Deputise for the Cluster Human Resources Manager where appropriate.

Key Skills and Qualifications

An ideal candidate will have previous experience in an HR Administrator/Officer position, a CIPD qualification, or be working towards one, with up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation.

They will also possess excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to act on own initiative and effectively prioritise own work.

Additionally, they should have awareness of the importance of confidentiality in HR.
