Disability Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Disability Advisor to join our team at The Cumbria County Council. As a key member of our Home to School Transport team, you will play a critical role in improving the quality, impact, and value for money of home to school travel, including the experiences of children and young people and their families and carers.
About the RoleThe Home to School Transport team is part of the Education, SEND and Inclusion service within the Children and Family Wellbeing directorate of The Cumbria County Council. We manage and procure services for the transport of children to and from school and other educational institutions, including children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), who may be vulnerable and require assessment to determine the most suitable transport appropriate to their needs.
As a Disability Advisor, you will work closely with our team to develop and implement strategies that promote inclusivity and accessibility for all children and young people. You will be responsible for conducting assessments to determine the most suitable transport arrangements for children with SEND, and for working with families and carers to ensure that their needs are met.
