About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Consultant to join our Community Paediatric team in North Cumbria. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist paediatric services to children and young people in Cumbria, with a focus on developmental difficulties and disability.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage children with developmental difficulties and disability, including those with possible autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
  • Lead the Multi-Agency Assessment Team (MAAT) and provide health assessments for children looked after and those being assessed for an Education, Health and Care Plan
  • Work closely with colleagues in the NCIC Community Children's Services, Primary Care and Cumbria County Council Children's Services to provide a comprehensive community paediatric service
  • Develop and implement service development projects to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people in Cumbria

Person Specification
  • MB or equivalent
  • MRPCH or equivalent
  • Full registration with GMC
  • MSc in Paediatric Neuro-disability
  • On the GMC specialist register for Community Child Health (CCH), or within 6 months of CCT for CCH, or specialist register for Paediatrics with demonstration of Level 3 CCH competencies obtained through CESR
