About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatrician to join our Community Paediatric team in North Cumbria. As a Community Paediatrician, you will be responsible for providing specialist paediatric services to children and young people in Cumbria, working closely with colleagues in the NCIC Community Children's Services, Primary Care and Cumbria County Council Children's Services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Paediatrics, with experience in Community Paediatrics and a special interest in Community Child Health. You will be able to assess children and young people for developmental difficulties and disability, including autism spectrum disorder, and provide leadership for the Multi-Agency Assessment Team (MAAT).

You will also be responsible for health assessments for children looked after and those being assessed for an Education, Health and Care Plan. The post-holder will be co-located with other Community Children's Services and will work closely with the team to provide a community paediatrician service for children and young people in Cumbria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and management of children with developmental difficulties and disability
  • Leadership of the Multi-Agency Assessment Team (MAAT)
  • Health assessments for children looked after and those being assessed for an Education, Health and Care Plan
  • Working closely with the Community Children's Services team to provide a community paediatrician service

Person Specification
  • MB or equivalent
  • MRPCH or equivalent
  • Full registration with GMC
  • MSc in Paediatric Neuro-disability
  • On the GMC specialist register for Community Child Health (CCH), or within 6 months of CCT for CCH, or specialist register for Paediatrics with demonstration of Level 3 CCH competencies obtained through CESR
