Job Title: Lead Adviser

ZipRecruiter is seeking a highly skilled Lead Adviser to join our team. As a key member of our offshore wind development team, you will be responsible for leading the consent process for our major offshore wind projects in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with our Consents team and Consents Optimisation Lead to scope and plan all activities and surveys required to facilitate the discharges of consent conditions, including Deemed Marine Licenses.
  2. Lead on contracting and procuring environment and other consultancy support to facilitate pre-construction activities.
  3. Manage the programme of deliverables from consultants and ensure alignment across the project.
  4. Liaise with internal stakeholders, including engineering, lands, and commercial teams, to ensure cooperation and alignment.
  5. Develop and implement strategies for relevant responsible areas, including risk management.
  6. Contract and budget management in relation to responsible areas.
  7. Provide updates on key showstoppers and risks to the Consent Manager.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in a relevant environmental or consenting discipline.
  2. Experience of large-scale EIA and/or DCO projects, preferably offshore wind.
  3. Experience of pre-construction and discharge activities and processes.
  4. Preferably some experience of planning applications and working with local planning authorities.
  5. Experience of other consents and licenses, such as EPS and marine licensing.
  6. Knowledge of impact assessment for offshore and inter tidal topic areas.
  7. Experience of developing strategies for high-risk consenting topics.
  8. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team and across different cultures.
  9. Experience with developing and implementing QA processes.
  10. Experience with stakeholder and regulators, relevant to England and Wales, is an advantage but not essential.
  11. Preferably, experience working with English and Welsh legislative frameworks.
  12. Experience of procurement activities would be preferable.
  13. Experience in planning for and discharging offshore and inter tidal requirements and conditions and Deemed Marine Licenses.
