The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Buying Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and assistance to our Buying Director, managing buying relationships with suppliers, and working with internal teams and suppliers to deliver product solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Buying Director, including data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.
  • Manage the buying process, including negotiating prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring a stable and reliable supply chain.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and logistics, to deliver product solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and improve existing relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Buying Director to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a buying or procurement role, preferably in the food industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
