The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Buying Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and assistance to our Buying Director, managing buying relationships with suppliers, and working closely with internal teams and suppliers to deliver product solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Buying Director, including data entry, report preparation, and communication with suppliers.
  • Manage the buying process, including negotiating prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring a stable and reliable supply chain.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and logistics, to deliver product solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and improve existing relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including health and safety, quality, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a buying or procurement role, preferably in the food industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
