Development Manager Planning Officer

Belmont Recruitment is looking for an experienced Planning Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the processing and determination of a diverse range of planning applications, including major development schemes, across Somerset.
About the Role:
- Process and determine planning applications, considering third party comments and negotiating with developers and their agents
- Liaise with members and draft reports for Planning Committee and delegated decisions
- Provide support and guidance to planning officers and consultees, monitoring and complying with planning functions
- Represent the Local Planning Authority at appeal hearings and public enquiries
What You'll Need:
- Proven experience in planning development management, preferably in a local authority setting
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
