About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading social housing business as a Risk and Assurance Manager. The company is looking for a skilled professional to deliver an effective risk and assurance framework, managing strategic and operational risks within appetite, and providing assurance to the Board and stakeholders on the effectiveness of internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a risk and assurance framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organization.
- Oversee the internal audit process and ensure that it is effective in providing assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the group's approach to risk and assurance is engaging and collaborative.
- Prioritize and escalate issues resulting in potential non-compliance with the leadership team and the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to perform independent assurance reviews of key risk areas across the first and second lines of defence.
Requirements
- Significant knowledge of risk, internal control, and compliance management frameworks.
- Experience in a managerial capacity, leading a small team within a large business.
- Good systems and technological knowledge, including Excel and other data systems.
- Ideal qualifications include an accounting or professional qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, or reputable risk/compliance management accreditation.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary of £50,000 to £55,000, depending on experience.
- Flexible working arrangements, including homeworking and a minimum of 25 days holiday.
