Risk and Assurance Manager

We are seeking an experienced Risk and Assurance Manager to join our team in Warrington. As a leading social housing business, we are committed to delivering high-quality services to our customers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement an effective risk and assurance framework to manage strategic and operational risks within appetite.
- Oversee the internal audit process and provide assurance to the Board and stakeholders on the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to risk and assurance.
- Prioritize and escalate issues resulting in potential non-compliance with the leadership team and the Audit & Risk Committee.
- Lead the team to perform independent assurance reviews of key risk areas across the first and second lines of defence.
- Risk and Assurance knowledge, ideally from within the housing, construction, or property field.
- Significant knowledge of risk, internal control, and compliance management frameworks.
- Good systems and technological knowledge, such as Excel and data systems.
- Experience within a managerial capacity, leading a small team within a large business.
- Ideally, an accounting or professional qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, or a reputable risk/compliance management accreditation.
- A competitive salary of £50,000 to £55,000, depending on experience.
