Risk and Assurance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk and Assurance Manager to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering an effective risk and assurance framework, managing strategic and operational risks within appetite, and providing assurance to the Board and stakeholders on the effectiveness of internal controls.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk and assurance framework to ensure the organization's risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated.
- Oversee the internal audit process, including the review of operating controls, processes, and improvements to existing policies and controls.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the organization's approach to risk and assurance is engaging and collaborative.
- Prioritize and escalate issues resulting in potential non-compliance with the leadership team and the Audit and Risk Committee where necessary.
- Lead the team and the business to perform independent assurance reviews of key risk areas across the first and second lines of defence.
- Significant knowledge of risk, internal control, and compliance management frameworks.
- Good systems and technological knowledge, such as being able to utilize Excel and other data systems.
- Experience within a managerial capacity, such as leading a small yet successful team within a large business.
- Ideally, an accounting or professional qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, or reputable risk/compliance management accreditation.
- A competitive salary of £50,000 to £55,000, depending on experience.
