At Cavendish Nuclear, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Senior Assurance Officer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our business processes and procedures.

The role

You'll be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of independent assurance activities, including audits, topic reviews, and studies. You'll also support the Head of Assurance in establishing and maintaining the strategic approach to Assurance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Head of Assurance in maintaining the Assurance Process, Assurance Programme, and related Business Management System arrangements.
  • Identifying non-conformities, opportunities for improvement, and positive findings, and supporting the business in addressing such findings.
  • Supporting external Assurance activities, such as Certification Body, Regulatory, and customer audits.
  • Providing coaching and support on Assurance-related matters at all levels across the business.
  • Supporting other business-critical Assurance and Governance-related activities, such as Business Continuity activities.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements. Agile working may be available, applying the principles of fairness and consistency while ensuring the overriding business needs can be met.

Essential experience includes:

  • Extensive experience in business assurance management, with strong knowledge of project governance, project lifecycle, business reporting, or Health, Safety, Environment, and quality.
  • Experience working with senior leadership teams, with the ability to present and influence.
  • Relevant and recent industry experience.

Qualifications include:

  • HND or HNC in an appropriate discipline or appropriate level of experience.
  • Membership of a relevant industry professional body.
  • Degree-level qualification preferred.

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
