Dietitian Band 5 Position

About the Role
As a member of the dietetic team at St George's Hospital, Queen Mary's Hospital, and community sites, you will work with rotations every 6 months to provide a dietetic service to various patient groups following evidence-based practice. You will be an active multidisciplinary team member, educator, and developer of nutrition policies and guidelines. Your participation in audit and research will help improve health outcomes and develop the role and service.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide specialist, patient-centered dietetic treatment plans to inpatients, outpatients, and community patients according to specific clinical rotation.
- Autonomously manage inpatients requiring food first support, oral nutritional supplements, and enteral tube feeding.
- Provide training to ward staff on nutritional care and screening, including HCA induction and development.
- Ensure flexible service delivery and provide clinical cover for colleagues within the band 5 team during periods of absence.
- Support the training of student dietitians.
About Us
The dietetic department at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust consists of over 60 dietitians who provide clinical services to various specialties. The department is committed to training dietetic students and actively participates in staff training programs. There are numerous opportunities for professional and personal development.
Requirements
- BSc or postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Completion of pre-registration placement.
- Knowledge of dietetics within the NHS.
Desirable Skills
- Continuing professional development.
- Experience working in acute and/or primary care.
- Computer literacy.
- Motivation and counselling skills.
- Ability to reflect and appraise own performance.
- Ability to travel within the Borough of Wandsworth.
