Occupational Therapy Practice Manager Lead

About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Occupational Therapy Practice Manager Lead to join our team at Southwark Council. In this pivotal position, you will provide strategic leadership and guidance to our Intermediate Care Southwark team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality adult social care services.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team comprising occupational therapists, social workers, and other staff members, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Conduct thorough strengths-based assessments and interventions, carrying a small caseload of complex cases, while supporting staff through joint visits and collaborative work.
- Develop and implement strategies, policies, and practices that support carers, working closely with the Team Manager to ensure effective service delivery.
- Manage the team's performance, driving achievement of key indicators, targets, and standards, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Promote equality and diversity, adhering to the Council's Equal Opportunities policy, and contribute to creating a workplace that values inclusivity and respect.
- Engage actively in staff recruitment, retention, and career development, offering mentorship as an expert practitioner, and contributing to the growth and development of the team.
- Report on budget allocation and optimize expenditure, aligning with Southwark Council's financial regulations, while ensuring the effective management of resources.
- Ensure seamless provision of assistive technology and equipment, meeting community needs efficiently, and promoting independence among service users.
- Collaborate with service users, carers, partners, and stakeholders to promote the department's vision and objectives, adapting to changing needs and priorities.
- Foster a flexible working environment, embracing innovation and technological advancements to enhance service delivery.
Requirements
- A recognized Occupational Therapy qualification and registration with the Health Professionals Council.
- Extensive knowledge of legislation governing Adult Social Care functions and Occupational Therapy interventions.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing effective work relationships across professions and managing Occupational Therapy staff.
- Self-motivation, proactive workload management, and skills in decision-making, risk management, and problem-solving.
- Strong IT skills for case management, communication, and report generation.
What We Offer
In return for your expertise and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of £65,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with opportunities for professional growth and development.
