We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Material and Process Analysis Intern at BMW Group Plant Hams Hall. As a key member of our TI-341HH department, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering material and process analysis requests and project activities as dictated by business requirements and production needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete chemical analysis as well as metallurgical analysis as required.
  • Perform failure analysis to understand root causes and recommend solutions.
  • Work with other departments to refine existing processes.
  • Undertake quality assured work to ensure specifications are met.
  • Complete improvement tasks and projects, either as part of a larger team or on own.
Requirements:
  • Studying towards a bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering with Chemistry / Materials modules and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above.
  • Be able to undertake a large programme of self-directed work.
  • Basic experience in using analytical equipment would be preferable.
  • Preferably have a full driving licence as there will be the chance to make use of the excellent existing network within the UK.
  • Good material knowledge and basic chemistry knowledge.
  • Customer orientated focus.
  • Good communicator.
  • Self-assured and self-sufficient.

  • 26 days holiday per annum (pro rata to your contract).

  • Contracted working hours are 39 hours a week, with a half day on a Friday.
