Job Title: Children's Nursery Deputy Manager

At Cellar Tapes UK Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Nursery Deputy Manager to join our team. As a key member of our nursery staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the manager and staff in providing high-quality care and education to our children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and Supervise Staff: Assist the manager in supervising and supporting room staff with their daily duties, including planning age-appropriate activities and updating children's learning records.
  • Ensure Learning Experiences: Plan and implement learning experiences that meet the needs of our children, ensuring they are enjoyable, challenging, and engaging.
  • Maintain Ratios and Supervise Children: Ensure that legal ratios are maintained in your room at all times, while supporting other rooms in the nursery as needed.
  • Use Initiative and Problem-Solve: Take control of situations when the manager is unavailable, using your initiative to resolve problems and ensure the smooth operation of the nursery.
  • Adhere to Policies and Procedures: Ensure that all policies and procedures are carried out effectively, including Health and Safety procedures and the implementation of cleaning schedules.
  • Develop and Facilitate Partnerships: Develop and maintain partnerships with parents and carers, actively advertising and supporting nursery events, and liaising with them as needed.
  • Lead Planning and Record-Keeping: Lead planning for the EYFS curriculum, maintain accurate and effective children's records, and observe and record children's achievements.
  • Provide High Standards of Quality: Ensure that the nursery environment, resources, and experiences meet the highest standards of quality, reflecting the individual needs of each child.
  • Monitor Development and Safety: Closely monitor the development tracker for each child, highlighting any gaps or significant delays, and ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and follow safeguarding procedures.
  • Undertake Shared Responsibilities: Assist with maintaining the nursery's cleanliness, including the cleanliness of bedding, nappy changing areas, and food preparation areas, and report any maintenance or cleaning issues promptly.
