Deputy Nursery Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team at Warlingham Day Nursery ltd. As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of our nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care and education for our children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Support: Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing all aspects of nursery operations, deputising in their absence as needed.
  • Child Development: Create a nurturing environment that fosters children's learning and development, implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and observing and assessing children's progress.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and appraise nursery staff, actively promoting positivity, professionalism, care, and co-operation.
Requirements:
  • Full and relevant Level 5 Childcare qualification
  • QTS/EYPS/EYTS (Approved Level 6 qualification)
  • Alternatively: A Level 3 childcare qualification AND minimum 5 years post-qualification experience at a childcare setting
  • Experience of the responsibilities of management
  • Full working knowledge and experience of the EYFS and Ofsted requirements
  • Experience of working as a DSL and/or SENDCO would be an advantage
