At GLL, we are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Officer to join our team at our Head Office in Woolwich, Southeast London. As a key member of our Sustainability Team, you will play a crucial role in driving our Sustainability Strategy forward and promoting our "Respecting the Planet" Value.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on all aspects of GLL's energy and water consumption, as well as carbon emissions and wider strategic sustainability objectives. You will work closely with our National Sustainability Manager to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to reduce our environmental impact.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing annual energy, water, carbon, and waste data collection and review processes
  • Working with GLL utility suppliers and partners to ensure accurate and consistent energy and water data sets
  • Providing regular data analysis and reporting to support our sustainability goals
  • Visiting GLL premises to check, challenge, and support operational teams with energy and water management
  • Maintaining and progressing GLL's metering strategy to achieve 100% online coverage
  • Establishing practical energy and water reduction measures for GLL premises and influencing changes to improve efficiency
  • Working with GLL partners and their sustainability teams to provide relevant carbon and utility data
  • Monitoring sustainable and energy-efficient practices within Leisure and Cultural buildings
  • Managing and reviewing the success of pilot projects, investments, and capital projects

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in sustainability, energy management, and environmental compliance. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders. A leisure management qualification and experience of working in a similar role would be advantageous.
