Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BOM Manager to join our team at International Automotive Components. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate alignment between Engineering BOM, TCe/PDM database System & CAD Models/Physical parts dependent on project phase.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of BOM Engineers to ensure the creation and maintenance of accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for parts in development, generation of IAC part numbers and colour codes which align with the Customer Part Numbers.
  • BOM Management: Upload and Maintenance of BOM on TCe/PDM system to allow parts to be issued for RFQ and for sourcing accurately and robustly.
  • Audit and Compliance: Lead the audit of Engineering BOMs vs CAD BOM vs actual build, noting significant errors that may result in shortages or cost discrepancies, communicating as appropriate and updating Engineering BOMs as required.
  • Change Management: Facilitate weekly Change Management Meetings (CMM), liaising with full team to effect changes into BOM once approved, issue robust minutes to support close out of actions. Escalate open action which have not been completed in a timely manner.
  • Documentation Management: Ensure RFQ and ECN's are loaded with accurate documentation.
  • Process Improvement: Raise and populate TCe/PDM ECNs with Engineering Direction to adequately convey any drawing revisions and / or updates to CAD Team, answering any queries and overseeing to ensure completion in a timely manner.
  • Team Support: Liaise with and provide support to all team members on a variety of subjects on which you will be key fact holder – where parts are made, what colours parts are available in, what raw materials are used and where, and other BOM related queries, providing support as required to various members of the team.
  • Release Management: Ensure that IAC release management processes are implemented robustly through out EU Locations.
  • Induction and Training: Be the point of contact for New Starters and deliver induction and comprehensive training and guidance to delivering the above functions.
  • Procedure Review: Conduct regular audit reviews of IAC and Customer Release Management Procedures to ensure IAC remains in line with global expectations.

Requirements:

  • Education: Educated to Degree / HNC standard in an Engineering or commercial discipline or with significant demonstrable relevant practical experience.
  • Technical Skills: Computer literate with good understanding of MS Office, in particular Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills, oral and written, enabling them to interact with a wide variety of team members of various levels of the company hierarchy.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-motivated, with a willingness to learn. Experience of working or willingness to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
