About the Role

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will work in emergency temporary accommodation, providing vital assistance to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and Guidance: Offer empathetic and non-judgmental support to service users, helping them to navigate their circumstances and access necessary resources.
  • Maintenance and Monitoring: Conduct regular checks and report any maintenance issues, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.
  • Crisis Intervention: Identify and respond to potential crises, including situations that require police or emergency services involvement.
  • Engagement and Communication: Foster positive relationships with service users, engaging them in support plans and promoting their independence.
  • Safeguarding: Report any safeguarding concerns or issues, prioritizing the safety and protection of vulnerable individuals.
Requirements
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience working with individuals affected by domestic abuse, with a strong understanding of related issues such as mental health, substance use, and self-harm.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and support relationships with diverse individuals.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of harm reduction strategies, group work facilitation, and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Driving License: Possession of a valid driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
