We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Charge Analyst to join our team at Riverside. As a key member of our Customer Operations Directorate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate calculation, construction, and issue of all service charges and rents for our properties.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately calculate and issue service charges and rents for properties in our portfolio, working closely with other departments to achieve this.
- Responsible for the makeup of service charge and rent setting, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Reconcile invoices and actualise end-of-year accounts, both financially and calendar-wise.
- Deal with customers directly, responding to their enquiries and resolving any issues related to service charges and rents.
- Attend residents' meetings to discuss rents and service charges, ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with legal obligations.
- Assist the Rents and Service Charge Manager in all tasks and responsibilities, providing specialist advice and guidance to colleagues and residents.
- Maximise income collection by maximising cost capture when calculating service charges, ensuring efficient and effective collection of service charges for all properties.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance to colleagues and residents on matters relating to rents, service charges, and third-party landlords.
- Undertake statutory consultation in relation to service charges, ensuring a good working relationship with relevant One Housing colleagues and stakeholders.
- Proactively ensure that databases and mapping used for the calculation of rents and service charges are up-to-date, accurate, and contain all relevant information.
- Meet all targets set and relevant corporate objectives, including production of KPIs and stats.
- Regularly consider new strategies, legislation, policies, trends, practices, and initiate and implement any changes where appropriate to maximise income collection and deliver an industry-leading service.
- Experience in dealing with service charge and rent setting.
- Experience in dealing with variable service charges.
- Experience and knowledge in legislation and regulations.
- Knowledge of property management and experience of calculating and issuing property charges, including services and rents.
- Extensive knowledge of leases, tenancies, legislation, and case law in relation to service charges and rents.
- Very good IT skills, particularly in Excel.
- The ability to build effective links with relevant stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Driven and target-oriented.
- Commitment to delivering exemplary and industry-leading customer service.
- Degree-level education.
