Offshore Maintenance Manager

We are seeking an experienced Marine Engineer to join our team as an Offshore Maintenance Manager. This role will be responsible for delivering the capability and availability of our offshore vessels to provide sea-going experience for cadets and ensuring the safety of all personnel on board.

About the Role

The Offshore Maintenance Manager will have a key role in providing support with the engineering management and maintenance of our offshore vessels. This includes:

  1. Identifying defects and safety shortcomings, determining solutions, and assisting in rectification or organising cost-effective professional repairs.
  2. Producing, overseeing, and tracking winter maintenance work packages for the fleet.
  3. Developing and implementing our Safety Management System, as related to the technical running and management of each offshore vessel.
  4. Assisting engineer officers with maintenance tasks.
  5. Managing records to support and evidence our maintenance programme.
  6. Acting as an occasional relief engineer on board any of our larger vessels.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. An engineer with HNC or similar professional qualification and significant experience in the maritime sector in seagoing and shore support roles.
  2. A broad engineering experience across mechanical, electrical, and electronic disciplines, including knowledge of typical small commercial or recreational vessel machinery, control, navigation, and communications systems.
  3. Experience in using and managing Electronic Planned Maintenance Systems.
  4. Effective liaison with ship and shore staff, external authorities, suppliers, and contractors.
  5. Health and fitness necessary to obtain an industry-recognised medical certification (ENG1).
  6. Experience working with young people.
