Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a state-of-the-art laboratory setting? We're seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Blood Transfusion team at London Bridge Hospital.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to take their career to the next level. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for processing blood samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting Biomedical Scientists in transfusion as required.

We offer a competitive salary of £26,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. This role also includes a range of benefits, including 25 days' holiday per year (plus bank holidays), private healthcare insurance, and a contributory pension scheme.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Processing and separating blood/serum/plasma samples for analysis
  • Maintaining accurate records of laboratory activities
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks on laboratory equipment
  • Receiving and storing laboratory supplies
  • Liaising with the Materials department to resolve issues related to laboratory supplies and deliveries
  • Ensuring that all laboratory equipment is in good working order
  • Providing support to Biomedical Scientists in performing analytical functions of the service
  • Contributing to the smooth operation of the Transfusion laboratory
