Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist - Adult Learning Disabilities

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing speech and language therapy treatment and management for adults with learning disabilities who also have communication, eating, and/or swallowing difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and develop individualized treatment plans for adults with learning disabilities
  • Deliver high-quality speech and language therapy services to adults with complex needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Recognized professional qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Minimum of five years post-qualifying experience as an SLT, including a minimum of three years in learning disability
  • Experience of working with adults with a wide range of speech, language, and/or communication needs
  • Ability to deliver training and presentations to other professionals
