Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a Rotational Speech and Language Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work with a range of medical conditions and assess and treat adult patients with acquired disorders of communication and/or swallowing.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will have a great opportunity to gain new skills and experience, working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care. You will be responsible for assessing and treating adult patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, and working closely with other healthcare professionals to provide effective care.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Speech and Language Therapy Degree or equivalent
  • HCPC State registration

Desirable Qualifications

  • Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
  • Show active interest in continuing professional development in line with RCSLT guidelines
  • Evidence of being self-motivated to remain updated with professional practice and new research
  • Post qualification in dysphagia

Experience

  • Relevant experience of working with adults at undergraduate/post graduate level
  • Working collaboratively with carers and other professionals

Knowledge

  • An awareness of NHS Plan, NSF and clinical governance priorities
  • Knowledge of acquired communication and swallowing disorders
  • Knowledge of relevant assessments and treatment techniques
