We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Specialist Bariatric Dietitian to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our obesity service, you will play a vital role in assessing patients before and after bariatric surgery, including nutritional assessment, risk management, and psychological wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Support patients after weight loss surgery, assessing nutritional intake, micro-nutrient status, and psychological wellbeing in face-to-face, video, and telephone clinics.
- Facilitate weekly group education for patients preparing for weight loss surgery, utilizing your expertise in behavior change skills.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary clinics on site at Guy's, as part of the weekly Obesity Medical Obesity Clinic, and contribute to MDT meetings to assess patients for surgery and support best interest decisions.
- BSc (Hons) Degree in Dietetics or equivalent, with HCPC registration.
- Sound knowledge of current issues relating to bariatric surgery and pharmacotherapy, with experience in facilitating and delivering group education.
- Proven ability to manage patients with complex obesity, with previous experience working in a team/MDT environment.
