Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Dudley, West Midlands

Weekly Salary: £420 to £450

Contract: Temporary Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am to 3:30pm)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at an Ofsted-rated 'Good' school in Dudley. The school caters to children aged 5 to 18 with a range of complex cognitive and physical needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to children with complex cognitive and physical needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assist with personal care, ensuring the dignity and well-being of students, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver tailored educational plans that support individual learning, and help students develop both academic and life skills in a nurturing environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families to support overall development, and contribute to a supportive and inclusive school community.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with SEN (preferred), with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all students.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care tasks, and maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and families.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to improving outcomes for children, with a focus on delivering high-quality support and services.
