Role Overview

The National Education Union is seeking an experienced and innovative Organiser to join our team in the East Midlands region. As a key member of our organising team, you will play a crucial role in supporting and developing members and activists, increasing membership density, building participation, unity and power to win.

About the Role

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position from 10 February 2025 to 9 February 2026, with a commencing salary of £56,714 per annum. The successful candidate will work directly with members and activists, developing confident workplace representatives and strong workplace groups, and lead and champion good organising practice across the union, regionally and nationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple organising projects and working well in a team to deliver key strategic industrial campaigns and projects in your region.
  • Developing and implementing effective organising strategies to increase membership density and build participation, unity and power to win.
  • Working directly with members and activists to develop confident workplace representatives and strong workplace groups.
  • Leading and championing good organising practice across the union, regionally and nationally.

Requirements

  • Experience of managing multiple projects and working well in a team.
  • Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and use own initiative.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
