About the Role

iQ Student Accommodation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Lawyer to join our team as a business partner to specific teams in the iQ business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of commercial matters, including data protection issues;
  • Work closely with stakeholders in the business to ensure iQ has the correct contractual protection in place;
  • Manage and drive forward projects, including the completion of contracts with relevant stakeholders;
  • Stay up to date with current changes on all relevant areas of law and contribute to the enhancement of the knowledge base of the legal function;
  • Maintain and update precedent documents and templates as required;
  • Foster strong working relationships across iQ, particularly with heads of departments for the relevant teams;

Requirements

  • Qualified to practice law in England and Wales with at least four years post-qualification experience working in-house;
  • Experience in an in-house role undertaking general commercial work, including managing data protection issues;
  • Strong drafting skills on a range of general commercial contracts;
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of communication with stakeholders and the rest of the legal team;
  • Excellent time management skills, including ability to manage workload and work within tight deadlines;
  • Superior attention to detail, with a willingness to take ownership to get the details right;
