About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical leader to join our team as Deputy Medical Director at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior clinical leader to make a significant impact on patient care and staff satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior clinical leadership and support to the Medical Director in delivering high-quality care.
  • Deputise for the Medical Director and take on professional responsibilities, including quality and safety, learning from deaths, medicines management, risk and assurance, and clinical effectiveness.
  • Work closely with the Medical Director to develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and staff experience.
  • Lead and manage a team of clinical leaders to achieve excellence in patient care and staff satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Proven medical leadership experience at senior level, with a strong track record of leadership and management.
  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) without any conditions or restrictions on licence to practise.
  • Evidence of participation in annual appraisal and continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Desirable qualifications include a Master's degree or equivalent in clinical leadership, a formal management qualification, and membership of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM).
  • Desirable experience includes previous work at Board level within an acute Trust, experience in mentoring or coaching clinical leaders, and experience of clinical leadership at regional or national level.

The ideal candidate will be a senior clinical leader with a strong track record of leadership and management experience, a commitment to multi-disciplinary working, and evidence of leading a team. They will be a strong communicator, with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care and staff satisfaction.
