About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Swansea. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for the well-being of patients under your care and will work closely with consultant colleagues and the multi-professional team to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective functioning of the services.
You will also be expected to make a significant contribution to the service and directorate planning process through active participation in the clinical directorate structure.
Main Responsibilities
This post will cover Gwelfor, an eighteen-bed male high dependency rehabilitation/recovery unit for treatment of patients with serious mental illnesses, and the Step-Down Houses, a community rehabilitation unit comprising two houses.
You will be allocated a Consultant who has personally completed the Portfolio Pathway (CESR) process as an educational and clinical supervisor to guide you through the process and help you with your portfolio.
Your training will aim to mirror that delivered by a higher specialty training programme and utilize portfolio evidence in the same way.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with a strong track record of developing effective working relationships and teaching and training of post/undergraduate clinical staff.
Essential qualifications include registration with the GMC, licensure to practice, and specialist registration with the GMC as a psychiatrist or eligibility for CCT within 6 months of the interview date.
Desirable qualifications include primary CCT or an endorsement in CAMHS or General Adult Psychiatry, further relevant degrees/diplomas, and teaching qualifications/higher qualifications in medical education.
Salary: £85,000 - £110,000 per annum
