Job Title: Autism Support for Children

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Autism Support Specialist. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Autism in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging and effective lessons, ensuring a tailored approach to meet the needs of students with Autism.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist in preparing classroom materials and resources to enhance the learning experience and promote student engagement.
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs, working closely with teachers and other support staff.
  • Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, and other school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a culture of mutual respect and understanding.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to support students with Autism, working collaboratively with the educational team.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed, ensuring the smooth running of the classroom and supporting the educational team.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • A caring and patient nature, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare would be an advantage but are not essential.
