Job Title: Autism Support Lead

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Autism Support Lead to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our pastoral team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism in our comprehensive secondary school in Bath.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Support: Develop and implement Individual Learning Support Plans to support students with Autism, delivering tailored interventions and coordinating with external agencies.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with pastoral teams, parents, and external practitioners to ensure cohesive support for students, facilitating meetings and providing feedback on student progress.
  • Administration: Record and monitor student progress, maintain accurate intervention records, and complete administrative tasks under the guidance of the SENCO.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Relevant experience working with children with Autism in an educational setting.
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in relevant education, childcare, or support fields.
  • Proficiency in literacy and numeracy (3 GCSE passes at Grade C or above).
  • Completion of ASC qualification or training and knowledge of child development and SEND frameworks.
Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with staff and students.
  • Effective communication and record-keeping.
  • Ability to promote positive behaviour and well-being in students.
  • Knowledge of SEND legislation and frameworks, and capacity to handle a dynamic, sometimes challenging, environment.
Working Environment:
  • The role involves physical activity, such as supporting students during lessons and managing classroom setups.
  • The mentor will be required to work both in and outside the classroom in various weather conditions, when supervising students.

This is a part-time, permanent role with 32.5 hours per week. Salary: Grade 5, SCP FTE £25,979 - £28,770. To apply, please attach your CV.
