Shift Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shift Engineer to join our high-performing team at our manufacturing site in Wolverhampton. As a Shift Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our operations, ensuring the delivery of top-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support all engineering breakdowns, diagnose faults, and replace machine parts as soon as possible.
  • Rectify hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues promptly.
  • Enhance, repair, and maintain all plant, equipment, and services within the manufacturing facility according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment, working closely with specialist Tool Room Engineers.
  • Participate in improvement projects during planned downtime and identify engineering solutions to maximize plant efficiency.
  • Maintain relationships with plant and services contractors/suppliers, arranging for them to undertake engineering works as required.
  • Organize and maintain the technical database.
  • Order spares/consumables required to support engineering activities.
  • Work closely with Production, Tool Change, and Tool Room teams to achieve engineering outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
  • GCSE Grade C and above or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Proven working knowledge of plant maintenance and repairs, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
