National Account Manager

This is a nationwide role, allowing you to be based anywhere in the UK as long as you are willing to travel. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving or exceeding agreed sales targets for volume, mix, and quality from large users of mechanical handling equipment within a designated area.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver sales performance through Contact Hire sales, Cash/Lease sales, refurbished equipment sales, Buyback-Rehire sales, and other forktruck products and services, meeting or exceeding agreed budget and plan levels.
- Pursue opportunities from existing major/key accounts, working in teamwork with Territory Sales colleagues where appropriate.
- Develop and implement strategy, development, and activity plans that target 'realistic' major accounts within assigned distribution areas.
- Ensure excellent market awareness and present the company to all target accounts and include it on all proposal/tender lists.
- Work proactively with Major Accounts, Telesales, and Short Term Rental teams to circulate opportunities to do business.
- Promote and deliver a continually improving customer experience.
- Support and contribute to team-based activities aimed at improving overall sales and business performance.
- Excellent sales and business development skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Strong market awareness and understanding of the mechanical handling equipment industry.
- Ability to travel nationwide as required.
