About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at BAM UK & Ireland. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our client's facilities, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of building and site maintenance, including planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, and site teams to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Assist in the negotiation and placement of contract orders, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and improve service delivery, working closely with contract teams to ensure high-quality results.
  • Facilitate the development of robust risk management processes and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and produce method statements for works on site.
  • Manage the onsite permit-to-work (PTW) system.
  • Monitor quality audits of work completed and implement policies on health and safety, quality assurance, and environment.
  • Identify and obtain essential spares to ensure client facilities remain operational.
  • Ensure all tasks, both planned and reactive, are completed within contractual time scales.
  • Assist in the provision of associated services, including general plumbing work, statutory inspection and testing of mechanical and electrical services, and management of minor works projects.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proven experience working as a technician in a busy service environment, preferably in the R&D or related sector.
  • Relevant electrical qualifications, ideally to an HNC level, including testing and inspections.
  • 18th edition electrical regulations knowledge.
  • Proven experience in building maintenance and fault finding on various equipment, including chillers, fire suppression, HVAC, boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, switchgear, battery installations, small power, and lighting.
  • Ability to read, understand, and diagnose faults using as-installed drawings, as-installed schedules, contract specifications, and equipment.
  • Full driving license.
  • Competent knowledge of IT packages, including work order management platforms.
  • Reliable and able to use initiative in day-to-day duties.
