Healthcare Operations Leader

Whitehaven, Cumbria, United Kingdom North Cumbria Primary Care Full time

Position Overview

This pivotal role offers operational and strategic oversight of our healthcare services, encompassing multiple GP practices and the PCN team. Collaborating closely with clinical leads, practice managers, and service managers, you will ensure the effective and safe delivery of services while adhering to budgetary constraints and established standards, policies, and procedures. As part of the broader leadership team, you will help define the strategic vision for the practices and PCN, driving the development of teams and services to enhance patient care.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience within the NHS, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the primary care landscape, including regulatory and contractual frameworks. You will be a strong leader capable of motivating and influencing others while constructively challenging the status quo. The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and perform under pressure to meet deadlines is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with clinical leads to support the achievement of national and local objectives.

- Oversee practice and PCN budgets, ensuring high standards of patient care are maintained.

- Cultivate and manage relationships with external stakeholders, including ICB and CQC.

- Provide operational leadership to practice management teams and the PCN Service Manager.

- Ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements.

- Work with senior management to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

- Engage with site leads to promote staff involvement and engagement.

- Model successful partnership working across the alliance and with broader stakeholders.

- Communicate operational requirements effectively to all relevant parties.

- Offer support to sites as needed.

- Provide coverage for registered managers during short-term absences.
