About the Role

The University of Bristol is seeking a highly skilled and experienced researcher to lead a substantial programme of research on genetic epidemiology applied to one or more of cancer aetiology, mechanisms, molecular risk prediction/stratification and progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a portfolio of research that has translational potential and build links to realise these translational activities.
  • Secure substantial research funding from publicly funded research funding agencies, charities, and other relevant organisations.
  • Critically interpret findings and disseminate them through high-quality academic publications, conferences, and other forms of dissemination that lead to impact.
Requirements
  • A depth and breadth of knowledge in cancer epidemiology and population health science with experience of leading and conducting high-quality genetic and/or molecular epidemiology.
  • Evidence of leading research proposal development with a record of winning grant funding to support research and support of successful funding bids with a strong publication record.
