The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join its Procurement and Contracting team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's procurement requirements and collaborating with the Head of Procurement and Contracting on complex procurements.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert procurement and contracting advice and support throughout the contracting process, ensuring compliance with the Contract Procedure Rules, legislation, and transparency requirements.
- Develop and advise on the use of procurement templates, appointment and evaluation criteria, procurement timetables, and procurement documentation, in collaboration with legal advisors.
- Ensure appropriate governance is in place by:
- Providing guidance on compliance with the CPCA Constitution, Contract Standing Orders, and Financial Regulations.
- Promoting best practice procurement techniques within the stakeholder community to enhance a value-for-money culture.
- Providing advice and guidance on procurement regulations and identifying key areas of risk to potential procurement strategies.
- Establishing and maintaining audit trails for all procurement-related activity, adhering to the Contract Procedure Rules.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of procurement regulations and best practices. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
