Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - SEN SEMH

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a SEND school specialised in SEMH based in Hammersmith. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced LSA looking to make a meaningful impact in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and moderate learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one or group support to students with SEMH and moderate learning needs.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCo to monitor student progress.
  • Help manage challenging behaviours in a calm and effective manner.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in an SEN SEMH setting is preferable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with students.
  • Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
